Spiti Valley, often referred to as "Little Tibet," is a mesmerising cold desert mountain valley situated in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Nestled high in the Himalayas, Spiti is renowned for its stunning landscapes, ancient monasteries, and unique cultural heritage. The valley lies at an altitude ranging from 3,000 to 4,000 meters (9,800 to 13,000 feet) and is bordered by Tibet to the east, Ladakh to the north, Kinnaur to the southeast, and Lahaul to the west.
Itinerary
Board an overnight bus or hire a private vehicle from Delhi to Manali. The journey takes approximately 12-14 hours.
Rest and Refresh: Freshen up and relax after the long journey.
Local Sightseeing:
Hadimba Temple: A historic wooden temple set amidst serene cedar forests.
Manu Temple: Dedicated to Sage Manu, it offers scenic views of the Beas River.
Vashisht Hot Springs: Take a relaxing dip in the natural hot water springs.
Mall Road: Explore the bustling market area for shopping and local cuisine.
Overnight Stay: Hotel in Manali.
Early Morning Departure: Leave Manali by 5:00 AM to ensure ample time for the journey.
Route: Manali - Rohtang Pass - Gramphu - Batal - Kunzum Pass - Kaza (200 km, 10-12 hours).
Rohtang Pass: Enjoy the stunning views of the snow-capped peaks.
Kunzum Pass: Stop for a quick visit at the Kunzum Mata temple and take in the breathtaking scenery.
Arrival in Kaza: Check into your hotel or guesthouse.
Rest: Relax and acclimatize to the high altitude.

Key Monastery: Visit the largest and most famous monastery in Spiti Valley.

Arrival at Chandratal: Reach the lake by afternoon and check into your campsite.
Explore: Enjoy the serene beauty of Chandratal Lake, often called the "Moon Lake."
Overnight Stay: Campsite near Chandratal Lake.
Early Morning Departure: Start early for the drive back to Manali (approx. 8-10 hours).
Route: Chandratal - Batal - Gramphu - Rohtang Pass - Manali.
Arrival in Manali: Reach Manali by late afternoon or early evening.
Rest and Leisure: Spend the evening at leisure, exploring Mall Road or relaxing at the hotel.
