Beas Kund, situated in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India, is a picturesque high-altitude lake at about 3,894 meters above sea level. It is historically significant as the source of the Beas River and is named after the sage Vyas, who is believed to have bathed here. Encircled by towering peaks and verdant meadows, the trek to Beas Kund offers a captivating mix of natural beauty and serenity. Starting from Solang Valley, the trek is accessible to both novice and seasoned trekkers. The crystal-clear lake, set against a backdrop of rugged mountains, makes Beas Kund a perfect destination for adventure and reflection.
Itinerary
Depart from Delhi at 06:30 PM, embarking on an overnight journey through scenic routes toward Manali.
Acclimatize in Manali, participate in team-building activities, and enjoy river rafting on the Beas River. Accommodation will be in a camp or hotel.
Begin your trek from Solang Valley (8,400 feet) to Bakarthach Base Camp (10,800 feet), covering approximately 8 kilometers. The trail features a mix of gentle and steep climbs through forests and open meadows. Arrive at the base camp, set up, rest, and soak in the beautiful surroundings.
Trek from Bakarthach Base Camp to Beas Kund (12,772 feet), a round trip of 12-14 kilometers. The path involves a steep ascent with possible snow patches. Spend time at the serene lake before returning to Bakarthach Base Camp for rest and preparation for the trek back to Solang Valley.
Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the Himalayas. After breakfast, trek back along the same trail to Solang Valley, where a vehicle will be waiting to drive you back to your hotel in Manali.
Explore Manali, visiting local attractions like Hadimba Temple and Vashisht Hot Springs. Spend the morning engaged in activities like paragliding or simply enjoying the local markets. The day concludes with an overnight journey back to Delhi.
